Dog Boarding
While here, your pup will be taken out three times a day and fed in the morning and the evening, unless otherwise specified. You are welcome to bring your dog’s own food or he/she can enjoy the Science Diet Sensitive Stomach we have available.
If you feel your dog will enjoy a little extra exercise while here, then take advantage of the extra walks around the streets of Carrboro that are availabe. Or if you want your pooch coming home smelling better than how you left him/her, then take advantage of our bathing option. Both services are offered at a small additional fee, please ask attendant for details.
Cat Boarding
We are proud to offer cat boarding at The Animal Hospital. Our feline boarding is separate from our canine boarding as our feline friends prefer a slightly quieter environment than their canine counterparts. We are able to give any needed medications and provide a healthy diet if you do not wish to bring your own food from home. Familiar bedding and toys are welcome but we do provide them here as well.
In order to keep your pet happy and healthy, we require current vaccinations to prevent the spread of common canine and feline diseases. Proof of vaccination is required and kept on file at the hospital. We also check each pet for fleas as they enter the boarding area. If we do find fleas on your pet we will give them a dose of Capstar to kill any fleas and prevent spread to other pets.
• If your Cat is on daily medication, we ask that you insure that the total numbers of tablets needed for your cat’s stay are in the bottle.
• Please bring medication in the original prescription bottle. Please clearly mark all medications with prescription name, veterinarian name, owner’s name, and pet’s name. Directions must be clearly labeled.
The following vaccinations are required prior to boarding your cat:
• Proof of current Rabies vaccination
• Proof of current FVRCP (distemper) vaccination
Current fecal parasite exam
Please call us if you have any questions regarding the vaccination status of your pet.
EMERGENCY TREATMENT:
Your pet will not be seen by a veterinarian unless you request an exam or we notice a problem. Examples include urinary difficulties, diarrhea, vomiting, not eating, not defecating, or coughing. Such conditions will be treated as conservatively as possible and we will make every attempt to contact you before treatment.
In the event a pet requires medical treatment, owners are responsible for the cost of treatment in the hospital.
For boarding reservations, of if you have any questions, then please call 967-4033.
