Erik K. Dorsch, DVM Owner
Dr. Dorsch was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He was a marine biology major at Texas A&M at Galveston and graduated from Texas A&M’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. After 2 years in Nashville, Tennessee, he found his way to North Carolina.
Dr. Dorsch enjoys sports, keeping aquariums, and anything car related. His specific veterinary interests are chronic pain management, geriatric care, and laser surgery.
Dr. Dorsch is a member of the AVMA and NCAVMA.
Dr. Dorsch has an old cat named Stella (aka Fatty Bo Batty), a beautiful lab/hound mix named Petunia (aka Tooner-Bee), and a spastic young lab mix named Fiona (aka the Bippety Boppet). |

DeWana Anderson, DVM Owner
Dr. Anderson completed both her BS in Animal Science and DVM from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1994. She started her professional career in Nevada but moved back to the south in 1997 and practiced at Apex Veterinary Hospital until 2003 when she joined The Animal Hospital as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Anderson and Dr. Dorsch became co-owners of The Animal Hospital in 2009.
Dr. Anderson resides in Carrboro with the “Brown Dog”, cats “Sugar Cat Sunshine” and “Jack” and goldfish “Phish”.
Dr. Anderson’s veterinary interests lie in preventative health care, geriatrics, and community health for pets. She strongly believes that with good information and access to appropriate health care and training all domestic animals in Orange County can have the opportunity to have a loving home and a long healthy life. She has served as the veterinarian for the Orange County Board of Heath since 2005. She is an active member of the Orange County Animal Services Board since 2005 and is also an involved board member of Paws4ever (formerly Animal Protection Society of Orange County) since 2004.
You will most likely find Dr. Anderson walking with her dog on Bolin Creek or jogging through town in her free time. She also enjoys gardening, a good book, and spending time with family and friends. |

Julie de Silvia, DVM
Dr. de Silvia grew up in Long Beach, California. She graduated from St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.
She spent 3 years working in NY but is happy to return to NC and be close to her alma mater, DUKE! Dr. de Silvia enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a special interest in internal medicine.
In her spare time she trains for triathlons and reads. She lives in Cary with her husband, also a vet, her dog, Ritz (a Grenadian rescue) her 2 cats, Frac and Nutmeg. |
